Frédéric Brunner

As CEO & Co-Founder of Genioo, Frédéric advises and helps global corporations and their senior executives to innovate, transform and grow more rapidly.

Frédéric is passionate about creating a better future for clients and their companies. He works with his teams to find new and smarter ways for their clients to think, plan and improve.

With his experience being on both sides of the equation — as a company executive and an advisor to companies — Frédéric designs project solutions that allow clients to successfully implement lasting and transformative growth by tailoring the approach for each client’s specific situation.

Previous experience

Frédéric started his career as an orthopedic surgeon at Balgrist University Hospital, Zurich. As a surgeon, Frédéric had the opportunity to work with Professor Christian Gerber, a recognized world leader of shoulder surgery, who helped Frédéric realize his desire to explore entrepreneurial paths and, ultimately, motivated him to leave the daily practice of medicine and pursue the business side of Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Frédéric started his business career at McKinsey & Company where he was successfully advising the top companies in Healthcare, OTC, Pharma, and MedTech in all major markets for six years. It was in this role that Frédéric realized his interests and talents in advising and helping senior executives to innovate, transform and grow and scale faster.

In 2006 he joined the Novartis Group, where he held several top management and executive positions. He successively led Group Strategy, then became the CEO of the high-growth BioSimilar Business Unit (EUR 150m revenues then, EUR >1.5 bn revenues today). After one year, he was promoted to Assistant to the Group CEO and Chairman.

Frédéric then moved to a-connect where he joined as CEO, doubling the size and quadrupling the profits over a three-year period. Ultimately, Frédéric decided to leave a-connect, founding Genioo in 2012 to devote his time to helping organizations transform and be better positioned for their future.

Throughout his career, Frédéric’s consulting work has taken him across the globe, with significant time spent in San Francisco, New York, London and Zurich. He relishes the experiences of working with diverse people, businesses and cultures.
