Supporting Organizational Transition: Klosterfrau ERP Implementation
In 2017, Klosterfrau was introducing a new ERP system to the company. Genioo was brought in to act as a strategic advisor to ensure the project met its launch date and overall objectives.
Klosterfrau is a healthcare group with a 200-year track record in developing, manufacturing and selling pharmaceuticals. They wanted to ensure that all entities were operating on the same system, so in 2017, they started introducing a new ERP software system, SAP S/4 HANA, to the company. However, in 2019, the Klosterfrau team realized that the project was no longer on track to meet its launch date. At this point, Genioo was brought in to act as a strategic advisor between Klosterfrau and the integrator, and we quickly became an essential hub for the process through our one-team approach.
Once on the ground, we deployed our project management experts to assess the project based on execution style and the feasibility and quality of the delivery on the plan. This assessment showed the project was behind its trajectory to hit its 2020 launch.
Our team worked with Klosterfrau to create a new project timeline. By calibrating the project plan, scope and goals against our knowledge of what works, we were able to set a realistic live date of 2021. The plan and milestones carved out at this stage were kept to with very little adjustment thanks to having a clear project structure, a proven process, and by us identifying and leveraging a project lead with the expertise to manage the project.
Klosterfrau felt that Genioo’s approach made a significant contribution to the success of the project through its consistent adherence to planning specifications.
A precise, proactive plan ensured all steps and activities required for transition had been weighed and uncertainties accounted for. This provided a framework for transparent communication around status, objectives and backlog, making it clear what needed to be done to hit the live date.
Most importantly, the plan has facilitated a smooth execution of the ERP project to its launch at the end of 2020. The project has been in Hypercare until April 2021 and is now fully instantiated.
